Mynxie's father is a good-for-nothing gamble and his career as the world champion kickboxer ended due to an injury.
The downfall lead to torn her family apart, her mother left them for another man. Her father owns large sum of money from the loan sharks, due to his terrible habits (drinking, gambling, etc..) Despite being a bitter man with a permanent injury on his left leg, he had trained Mynxie like a spartan at a young age. He selfishly wanted Mynxie to accomplish the dream that he wasn't able to continue and become a world champion kickboxer in the female rank.

Clover's grandpa used to be Mynxie's father's coach, and has known Mynxie since she was a baby. The grandpa displeased with Mynxie's father's behaviour obsessing towards being the world champion has destroyed his daughter's childhood just to complete his goal.
Struggling to pay his own debts, the grandpa offered a large sum of money enough to pay off the debts and live comfortably in exchange for Mynxie to be raised as his own grand daughter.The father happily sells her daughter off to the Livius family.

Clover's grandpa cared Mynxie like his own child and to Mynxie, he was a father, a mentor, and the family she wished for.
In exchange for the love she was shown, Mynxie sworn to protect the only heir and child of the family.
With that set in mind, Mynxie pursuit kick boxing as well-- This time it was her own decision.
